IPIA announces Innovation Conference

The Independent Print industries Association (IPIA) has announced its Innovation Conference will this year incorporate a packaging, as well as marketing, focus for the first time.

The conference, on 2 April, is titled ‘The Evolution of Innovation – The very best in naturally selected Marketing, Print and Packaging Innovations’.

It will feature talks from sales manager at Landa Digital Printing Gerry Mulvaney, on Nanography, sales and marketing director of printing and packaging company Ultimate Group Chris Tonge, and joint founder of intelligent packaging promotions company Hive, Keran Turakhia.

Other speakers will include Royal Mail’s strategic solutions manager Anna Sargent on ‘The future of mail and how it can help maximise the value of printed communications’, and CEO of Documobi Peter Lancaster, whose talk will be titled ‘Make Print Digital in a Mobile World.’

“Packaging is an important focus because in our print world packaging is the one which can’t be replaced by electronic forms so there’s a lot of innovation going on there,” said Andrew Pearce, IPIA chief executive.

He added that people from all areas of the industry would be in attendance, including print managers, creative agencies, brand owners and printers.

“Printers will want to hear ‘where next for my business.’ This conference will give them inspiration as they move to offer cross media services,” said Pearce.

The conference is being held at the World Primate Centre at Twycross Zoo, Warwickshire. It is being supported by the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and European Flexographic Industry Association (EFIA).

Early bird offer rates for IPIA, DMA and EFIA members are £115, with subsequent delegates £57.50. Non-member rates are £145 and £72.50 for subsequent delegates.
