Inca Digital aims to 'raise the bar' with the launch of the Onset S40

Inca Digital has launched a mid-range version of its Onset wide-format UV printer, the S40, which aims to combine production efficiency with low cost-per-print.

The machine can print at speeds up to 470sqm an hour and fits in the existing Onset portfolio between the 310sqm an hour S20 and the 750sqm S70.

According to Inca, the latest addition to the Onset battery "raises the bar" and couples "best-in-class" quality with high levels of performance, making it ideal for POS, exhibition displays, outdoor signage and backlit displays.

The Onset S40 features 168 user-replaceable printheads and produces output at 600dpi in either a four- or six-colour configuration.

Linda Bell, chief executive of Inca Digital, said the advent of the S40 followed three years of worldwide success with the manufacturer's existing Onset machines.

She added: "The Onset S40 is the logical next step in our printer portfolio. It fits nicely into the market and is highly competitive.

"Many companies are starting to invest in multiple Onsets, and we are giving them the flexibility to mix and match the models to suit their customers' needs and production requirements and provide room for growth."

The Inca Onset S40 will be showcased publicly for the first time worldwide on Fujifilm's stand at Fespa Digital Hamburg on 24-27 May 2011.

Ossett-based Kolorcraft has already taken delivery of the first Onset S40 in the world, after taking part in the product's beta trial. For more on Kolorcraft and the Onset S40, see PrintWeek issue 21 April.
