IFS outlines plans for Label & Print 2015

Intelligent Finishing Systems (IFS) will use next month’s Label & Print 2015 exhibition at Packaging Innovations 2015 to highlight how printers can offer short-run, creative and added-value services with its Horizon RD-4055 rotary die-cutting and creasing system.

“The RD-4055 launched at Print Efficiently and attracted a lot of attention for its capability to help operations create added-value print that stands out,” said IFS joint managing director Bryan Godwyn.

“When there is so much pressure to differentiate and create a profitable service portfolio, cost-effective solutions like this open up exciting opportunities.”

The Horizon RD-4055 Rotary Die Cutter can die-cut, crease, perforate, slit, hole punch and round corner in one process for digital and offset printed sheets.

The machine runs at up to 6,000 cuts per hour, has a maximum sheet size of 400x550mm, substrate flexibility up to 0.5mm, one pass processing and a servo motor with a controlled ‘repeat register’ feature that allows multiple-up applications from single-up die to minimise die cost.

Visitors to the company’s stand will also be able to view various samples of finished products laminated on a Foliant Vega 400A laminator, die-cut, creased, perforated or kiss-cut on the Horizon RD-4055 and glued and folded on a Petratto Metro folder-gluer.

The Foliant Vega 400A is a fully automatic high-pressure B3-plus laminating machine developed for offset and digital printed sheet output up to 500gsm. The machine is equipped with a super non-stick laminating roller, for window lamination, and uses a pneumatic system for applying the lamination film under pressure and heat.

The Petratto Metro can produce a wide range of applications from credit card and CD gluing to carton boxes, wraparounds and envelopes. It is suitable for complex short run applications for markets such as direct mail, POS and packaging as well as general commercial work.

Label & Print will be held at Birmingham’s NEC on February 25 and 26, co-located with Packaging Innovations 2015 and Empack 2015.
