IBT Global merges with Hamilton Printing

Book printer Integrated Book Technology (IBT Global) has merged with Hamilton Printing Company to create a company with more than 160 employees with almost $30 million in annual revenues.

Troy, NY-based IBT Global president John Paeglow said the new entity, now named IBT/Hamilton, establishes a "strong foundation for continued growth in the book manufacturing and publishing industry".

"I spent the first 12 years of my career under the tutelage of out-going Hamilton president Brian Payne," Paeglow said.

"For the last 20 years, my focus has been building a company that utilizes the latest in technology to manufacture books and help publishers to fully utilize their intellectual property. As we combine the two companies, we will be able to offer customers manufacturing for the life cycle of a title, resulting in streamlined inventory management."

IBT said its digital production will be enhanced by Castleton, NY-based Hamilton’s web offset capabilities, adding that IBT’s editorial, page composition, and software, linking publishers’ administrative systems and warehouses will now enable publishers to improve schedules and control inventory from 10,000 copies to one copy.

"Without question, this acquisition is a great strategic fit and creates a sound financial foundation for IBT/Hamilton to grow and serve its customers’ changing needs," said IBT CFO/COO John Lang.

IBT was established as the world’s first all-digital book manufacturer in 1991 with facilities in Troy, NY, Dulles, VA and London.
