The open days, which will take place from 10am to 6pm on 25 November and 10am to 4pm on 26 November at UK and Ireland Mimaki distributor Hybrid Services’ Crewe headquarters, follow the success of I-Sub’s other recent open days.
The Kettering-based firm will partner with foil supplier Foilco and Hybrid Services to demonstrate the Digi-Foil system, which combines a Mimaki UJF-6042HG desktop printer and a heated applicator and can create colour-accurate packaging mock-ups in under 10 minutes.
The system, which was launched last year, is suitable for the packaging and promotional products markets.
It can achieve metallic colours, holographic, patterned, multi-coloured, opaque and foil embossed effects and security markings. The device needs no foil presses or dies and can apply foil on areas as small as 0.3mm.
The recently launched Kebab add-on for the Mimaki UJF printer, which allows for direct printing on cylindrical objects such as candles, bottles and packaging, will also be on show at the event.
"Our Digi-Foil system, particularly paired with the Kebab tool, has attracted huge interest at every event we've shown it so we felt it deserved its own open house event," said I-Sub Digital director Andy Spreag.
"From packaging companies and dedicated packaging prototype designers to signmakers and print houses, it has sparked the imagination of everyone who's seen it.”
Visitors to the event will also be able to see the range of Mimaki wide-format printing equipment situated in Hybrid Services’ demonstration suite, including the recently launched Mimaki JV300 range of solvent printers and print and cut systems.
