Hohner set for Drupa showing of latest saddle binder

Hohner has announced it will debut its latest saddle binder, the HSB 8000, at Drupa.

The finishing kit manufacturer has also announced it will present a new orange logo to represent the company's new corporate identity as it expands operations to China and the US.

Hohner claims the redesign represents a combination of dynamics, innovation from experience, precision, and clarity.

The HSB 8000 is an upgraded version of the manufacturer's 7000 machine, which was introduced into the market in 2004.

Hohner UK managing director John Sykes told printweek.com that the faster machine will help the company go up against the likes of Heidelberg and Muller Martini.

The new machine offers increased productivity, capable of outputting up to 8,000 products an hour, and a trimmer that can handle stocks up to 10mm.

Hohner has also decreased the machine's chain pitch, which now runs at a slower speed, while an improved shuttle is claimed to increase stability and lessen the chance of spoiled sections.

The company also announced it has incorporated 8mm loop stitching to its 43/6S stitching head, adding more flexibility.

The 8mm loop had previously only been available so on the Hohner 52/8 and M45/6 stitching heads.

Hohner will be exhibiting at Drupa, which runs from 29 May to 11 June in Düsseldorf, Germany.
