The Bristol-based company, which is an all-Heidelberg house, has opted for a six-colour configuration specified with a dedicated Anilox inline coater.
The 70-staff printer's latest machine also adds Inpress Control, which will offer automated colour and register adjustment during makeready and production.
According to Chris Cooper, managing director of Hampton Printing, the latest investment will allow the company to "keep pace with modern technology" and meet customer demands of shortening lead times.
He said: "We need to maintain the top quality standards that we have built our reputation on.
"We know that XL 105 technology is reliable and that its high output suits our requirements and the response expectations of our customers. Its arrival will form an integral part of our ‘closed loop’ set-up and complement the performance of the other two XL presses."
Hampton's latest investment arrives several months after the company became the first UK print firm to achieve the ISO 12647-2 colour control standard via Heidelberg UK's accreditation scheme.
The business, which serves a blue chip client base that includes financial customers, will run the press on double day shifts, five days a week and with the option to move to 24 hours as required.
