Friedheim International creates converting division with Kama tie-up

Friedheim International has said it aims to "do justice" to the converting market in the UK after tying with Kama on the formation of a new converting division.

The Hemel Hempstead-based supplier will offer Kama's portfolio of machinery that includes the ProFold 74 folder gluer, ProCut 74H and 53 die-cutter models.

Heading up the new division is John Harrison, who has reported to Kama chief executive Marcus Tralau since taking on the role of sales director for UK and Ireland in November 2009.

Mark Bristow, managing director of Friedheim International, said the addition of Kama products and the formation of the new division indicated how seriously the company views its involvement "across all areas of finishing in commercial and digital print, as well as packaging and now converting".

"It is a highly positive move, and one that we would not have undertaken unless we could do justice to the market sector, the manufacturer, and existing and future customers," he added.

Kama offer a range of die-cutting and creasing machines, hot foil stamping machines and folder gluers for short-run applications.

Tralau said Kama's partnership with Friedheim International will enable it to deliver "quality sales and service" to customers. "We are very pleased to secure this partnership with Friedheim International as we value their long-standing expertise in the finishing sector," he added.
