EO buys raft of imagePress kit

Swedish commercial printer EO Grafiska has finalised a deal with Canon worth more than 700,000 (608,000), in a bid to "reposition" its business.

The 56-staff firm has signed for two Canon imagePress C6000VPs, one ImagePress 1110, and an ImagePress c6000 digital press.

The new kit replaces a Xerox iGen3 and two mono Nuvera engines at a time when the €10m-turnover firm said digital is playing a larger part of its business.

Torbjörn Dannemann, chief executive of EO Grafiska, said: We moved into digital seven years ago and now, we are repositioning ourselves with the help of Canon.

"Digital is going to play a bigger part of what we do. In the future, it will be the main thing we do, at the moment it is only a third of it."

Commenting on the deal, Bertil Widmark, President of Canon Sweden AB said: "EO Grafiska is changing its business model and we are proud it has chosen to do this in partnership with Canon".

David Preskett, European professional print director at Canon Europe, added: "I am pleased to say we're having a hugely successful show.

"We've had a very rewarding show so far, and it's clear that our customers are coming to our stand looking to invest and make a positive business leap."
