Details of UPM sales restructure revealed

UPM UK has unveiled details of its new sales structure announced last month.

From today, the sales team will be headed up by Will Oldham, general manager and Western Europe area sales director, publishers.

Oldham will be supported by directors in the company's segments: printers, merchants and converters.

This will see David Telford as Western Europe area sales director for the printers division, Niko Kinnunen as UK segment leader/sales director for converters for the UK market, and Martin Holmes in the role of Western Europe area sales director for merchants.

In the publisher segment area, Andrew Cruttenden has been appointed head of newspaper publishers.

Dino Vasiliou is head of magazine publishers and Samantha Casciani has been appointed as head of retailers and cataloguers. They will all report to Oldham.

In the printer segment area, Andrew Causer has become sales director printers and he reports to Telford.

In the merchant segment area, Janeen Key has been appointed as sales manager, along with Joanne Claydon. They will report to Holmes.

Terry Parry is now charged with technical sales and development and will also report to Oldham.

A spokesman for the company said that all staff will be based in the UK and there have been no new appointees.

They all previously held sales manager roles in different segments with the exception of Key, who was head of marketing, and Causer, who was based at the group's head office.

The news follows the departure of Graham Fraser, UPM's director for magazine papers, and Mike Holland, sales director UPM UK, who left on 14 January.

A number of people have left following the changes to the sales restructure although UPM would not comment on the number of staff that had been affected.

The company said a restructure had occurred to reflect the needs of the business, after parent UPM-Kymmene corporation's new business structure came into effect on 1 December 2008.
