De Groot invests in Lithrone S29

De Groot Drukkerij has signed for a Komori Lithrone S29 at the show, following an upturn in business largely driven by web-to-print.

The Netherlands-based printer has bought the five-colour plus coater version of the press off Komori's stand (6/B520). The S29 will be shipped straight from the show and will run alongside two Lithrone 40SP double deck perfectors and a five-colour Lithrone 40. The new S29 is De Groot's first press to have a coating unit.

According to managing director Anton de Groot, trade has accelerated over the last year thanks to a surge in online orders.

"Over the past 12 months, our input of orders through the internet has increased substantially with many requiring very quick delivery," he said. "In fact, there's so much of that type of work coming in that we plan to triple shift the new S29 immediately."

He added: "The coating unit will be an essential asset, enabling us to move the printed sheets straight over to our finishing department."

De Groot is a long-standing Komori customer, buying its first Komori press 20 years ago.
