Compose System at Drupa with updated workflow software

Prepress software and workflow developer Compose System has unveiled its line-up for Drupa, which includes the latest version of its Express WorkFlow and an update to its newspaper production workflow, Express NewsFlow.

Compose Express WorkFlow now provides JDF support, accepting JDF import and job tickets from within the workflow. This is claimed to offer correct handling of each job at every stage of the production process.

The new workflow also allows production instructions, such as ink key value, ripping preferences, imposition methods, folding, binding or guillotine instructions to be specified in compliance with the JDF protocol.

Compose will introduce version two of its Express NewsFlow, designed for page assembly and production scheduling in newspaper and magazine publishing.

The latest update adds real-time job status, remote job management and enhanced monitoring and control throughout the production process.

The company will also be showcasing its plate layout software, Plate Controller, JDF 1.3-based production workflow Express Manager and its flexographic and packaging production workflow, FlexoFlow.

Compose System chief executive Tom Sit said: "Customers at Drupa will be able to discover the many innovative and enhanced products that Compose has lined up for the event."

Compose System will be exhibiting at Drupa, which takes place from 29 May to 11 June in Düsseldorf, Germany.
