CDS appoints Bailie to chief executive role

Print manager Corporate Document Services (CDS) has appointed Fergus Bailie as new chief executive after the incumbent was promoted to its parent company.

Fergus Bailie took over the role from Ian Southall, who is now at The Baird Group, where he has been set the task of "exploring European opportunities for CDS's expansion".

Bailie joined CDS in 2006 as commercial director, having previously worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers. A chartered accountant, he has a law degree and has spent time in the US where he attended Columbia Business School. He is also a director on the board of sister company Newspress.

Bailie said: "I have inherited a great team to work with at every level of our organisation.

"I know from my experience working with the CDS board that we are all fully committed to doing our utmost to ensure that CDS continues to be a leading player in the communications industry, and that we will build on that position by maintaining excellent relationships with our existing clients while also seeking to gain new clients and enter new markets with new products and services."

CDS's clients include the London 2012 Olympic Games, the Ministry of Defence, the Highways Agency, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, the UK Commission for Employment and Skills and a number of local authorities.
