Visitors to the Canon stand at Cross Media 2012, which takes place in London today and tomorrow (4 September), will be able to see different a range of the latest cross media applications.
As well as Taopix Portfolio photo print software and the latest DirectSmile cross-media suite, Canon will demonstrate Mobile Print Recognition (MPR) from Documobi on its stand. MPR can make any image or print interactive – whatever the size or location – without any need for QR codes, tags, dots or marks of any kind.
Smartphone and tablet users can download and install the free reader app, scan a piece of print that has been made interactive via MPR and are automatically taken to a static or personalised web page.
Cross Media 2012 will also offer demonstrations, an advice centre, photo area and a panel of experts in a Q+A session.
The panel will be an open forum where visitors will be able to get insights and opinions from a panel of people with a wide range of backgrounds.
Canon's UK and European product manager, Anthony White said: "We're hoping for a fair bit of interaction with the audience as we're expecting a wide mix of marketers, creatives and printers."
The panel will include Propellor DPI managing director Barry Cool, head of Digital Media Solutions Chris James, independent marketing consultant Jackie Morgan and a representative from Chaos Design. "I'm hoping for a very lively and interesting discussion," he added.
There will also be advice on specific communication challenges and visitors will be able to discuss the opportunities offered by cross media with independent experts in cross media marketing, web-to-print and related strategic business development.
