BMPA's Share to Benefit forum discusses print exports

The Bombay Master Printer Association's Share to Benefit (StB) forum on 8 June saw a presentation by Ajit Shah who addressed Mumbai's top print CEOs.

The session which was hosted in the PrintWeek India office, saw the best of Mumbai's print industry discuss the benefits of key export schemes.

Shah focused on the various government procedures and formalities, strategies for export marketing and export potential - with special emphasis on the print industry.

The three-hour session was interactive and lively and saw Dr Shah demystify export legalese and technical jargon for commercial printers, packaging convertors and specialised digital firms.

Ajit Shah is a well known export consultant to several leading companies and associations (Bombay Chamber of Commerce, IMC etc). Also, he advises the government, ministry of commerce and export promotion from time to time.

As Iqbal Kherodawala stated in his concluding remarks, "Today's session warrants a full-fledged workshop on the subject so that many more print firms can be boost their operations through Dr Shah's knowledge."

StB was conceptualised at the BMPA Print Summit, February 2007. The first meeting was held on 2 May 2007. Members of the forum meet on a monthly basis to explore training, technology and management upgradation. StB is the brain-child of the chairman, Faheem Agboatwala of Hi-Tech Printing Services.

The sessions are closed door in which a range of subjects such as chemistry on the press, taxation, tackling truant customers, MIS solutions, etc are discussed. The future sessions of the StB will be hosted in the PrintWeek India office.

The next StB session will be presented by Arun Rawat on 6 July 2011. This session will also be hosted at Pipal Conference Room in the PrintWeek India office.
