Antalis signs up for Green Achiever Scheme

Paper merchant Antalis has signed up to the Green Achiever Scheme, which aims to help companies demonstrate their environmental credentials to suppliers and customers.

The scheme, which has been developed by environment consultancy E4, measures and reduces energy consumption, carbon emissions, waste landfill, packaging waste and emissions to air and water.

Matthew Botfield, environment manager at Antalis, said the Green Achiever Scheme isn't just about material traceability.

"Antalis has an Environmental Management System and is audited and certified to ISO 14001, but we want to be recognised for our green achievements within the business channels we trade in," he said.

He added that the company endeavours to support its customers and subscribe to organisations such as Green Achiever.

Businesses interested in registering should go to www.greenachiever.co.uk and complete a questionnaire to outline their responsibilities.

The first level is self-assessment, followed by silver, which demonstrates the positive action taken in the way it cares for the environment. The highest level, gold, is attained following an extensive environmental audit.

Antalis said the scheme provided a reason to network with other businesses, engage with their product and service offerings and understand how they consider the environment every step of the way.
