Aaron Printing in digital debut with Heidelberg deal

Aaron Printing is making its first foray into digital printing with the purchase of a Heidelberg Linoprint C751, as part of a £115,000 investment in new equipment.

The Linoprint C751, a Heidelberg-badged Ricoh Pro C751, is the second recent purchase by Aaron Printing from Heidelberg, which recently sold the firm a new five-colour Speedmaster XL 105-5+L and the latest MIS and CtP systems. Aaron Printing has also ordered a Morgana DocuMaster Pro booklet maker.

Gary Nagioff, the firm's managing director, told PrintWeek that the C751 and Morgana were scheduled for installation in January 2013 and were part of an overall £115,000 investment package. He said the digital press would enable Aaron Printing to compete more effectively through shorter print-runs and a greater array of functions.

The West Molesey, Surrey-based printer has a turnover of about £1m and specialises in mailing services for its customers. It said the investment in digital would enable it to "offer a single centralised and efficient database and list manipulation service".

Aaron Printing added that the lack of toner oil in the Linoprint’s ink allowed digital work to be perfect bound using cheaper hot melts rather than PUR glues.

Nagioff said: "We like dealing with Heidelberg and the Linoprint quality fits best alongside our litho presses.

"It is a great entry-level machine. We have also specified the Morgana DocuMaster Pro booklet maker, so quick turnarounds will be easy."

Aaron Printing was founded over 25 years ago. Nagioff said the company was named as a tribute to Elvis (Aaron) Presley.
