Building on its sixth-generation platform and based on Cheetah 2.0 technology with new generation interfaces and cloud connection, the Xeikon CX30 and CX50 are designed to offer maximum OEE (overall equipment effectiveness).
They slot into the Belgian manufacturer’s portfolio between the Xeikon 3030 Rex and 3050 Rex entry-level presses and the higher-end CX300 and CX500.
The company said it has designed and developed the two new machines to suit any label printer operating on ‘middle capacity’ (20,000-40,000sqm) in all end-use segments but particularly in the pharmaceutical, food, and wine and spirit label sectors.
For higher speeds, both the CX30 and CX50 can be upgraded on site from 20m/min to 30m/min with the CX300 or CX500. For greater width, the 330mm CX30 can be upgraded to the 520mm CX50 or CX500.
Xeikon vice-president of marketing Filip Weymans said: “Part of the Xeikon strategy going forward is to make sure every label printer and converter has the maximum choice to purchase a Xeikon press which can help them drive business growth.

Xeikon said its Cheetah 2.0 technology is based on its proven, scalable press architecture that includes five print stations and a full rotary process with a variable repeat length. Each station uses an LED imaging head operating at 1,200x3,600dpi and delivering offset/gravure image quality.
The two new presses use Xeikon’s QB dry toner and are driven by the manufacturer’s X-800 digital front-end.
They are commercially available globally “as of Q1 2021” and Xeikon is holding physical and online demonstrations at its Global Innovation Centre in Antwerp. Pricing had not been disclosed at the time of writing.
