Fans of TV show Dragons’ Den will find a familiar industry face making an appearance on this weekend’s episode.

Talking Print founder and managing director David Hyams will appear on the show, making his pitch for investment to dragons Sara Davies, Tej Lalvani, Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones and Touker Suleyman.

Hyams will try to persuade the dragons to invest in his firm’s Talkies personalised on-demand cards and books, which can contain images, audio and video.

The outcome of his pitch is under embargo until the show is broadcast.

Hyams has spent 40 years in the printing industry, and said: “It was brilliant to have the opportunity to raise the profile and value of the print sector, along with how it’s successfully innovating, to the Dragons.”

He added: “It was a great experience, both exciting and nerve-racking, to appear in front of the famous Dragons.

“I love print and communicated its power in my pitch; how as a physical piece of communication it really can connect with those that receive it. I also focused on my business’ commitment to innovation in the print industry over many years, firstly linking it to the internet and now adding audio and video to drive personalisation.”

To see how Hyams gets on, tune into Dragons’ Den at 9pm on BBC2 on Easter Sunday, 12 April.

The Talkies range was launched at the end of last year.
