This year’s annual Power of Print seminar is to embrace the power of digital and be hosted online to ensure it’s not impacted by the Coronavirus restrictions.

Usually hosted at Stationers' Hall in early November, the event, which is organised by paper and print advocacy group Two Sides and the BPIF, will this year take place on 3 November as a virtual conference.

Two Sides managing director Jonathan Tame said it was imperative that the event, which is celebrating it’s tenth anniversary this year, go ahead to reflect the essential role that print has played in the coronavirus crisis.

“Even in a changing landscape, the power of print remains unassailable and this year’s seminar will highlight the opportunities, and indeed challenges, for print in this new world,” he said.

The day will be split into two, two-hour sessions – with each session’s four headline speakers broadcasting from Canon’s central London office.

Canon Europe director of Professional Print Solutions Mark Lawn said: “Canon are extremely excited to be part of a completely virtual Power of Print seminar for the first time in this special event’s 10-year history.

“As an industry, we need to be even more agile, considering new services and new approaches. The seminar provides a perfect platform for learning and inspiration.”

The eight speakers for this year’s event, which is co-sponsored by papermaker Fedrigoni, will be unveiled in the coming weeks, but past speakers have included former Reach chief executive Simon Fox, neuroscientist Baroness Susan Greenfield, designer Wayne Hemingway and Rory Sutherland, vice-chairman of Ogilvy UK.

Prices for both sessions are £29 for Two Sides and/or BPIF members or £39 for non-members. For a limited time, three tickets can be booked for the price of two.
