FB9000PRO: host of features including blended cutting speed

Intec has launched a new flagship model in its ColorCut digital flatbed cutter range, which it has hailed as “a quantum leap in speed and functionality”.

The ColorCut FB9000PRO is an automatic digital die-cutter that can combine cutting, creasing, perforating and scoring in a single pass.

Intec said it offered true unattended operation thanks to its auto feeder and stacker, vacuum suction conveyor belt cutting table, and media collection tray. The adjustable auto feeder media stacker has a capacity of 22.5cm in depth, or 25kg or media – the equivalent of 2,0000 SRA3 sheets.

Mark Baker-Homes, director of business development said the firm was “incredibly excited” to introduce the new high-speed model.

“This product offers a quantum leap in speed and functionality, as well as bringing new styling cues that will permeate across our ColorCut range over the coming year.

“Our new flagship model ensures any business, that wants to bring unattended quality cutting automation in-house, can do so with confidence.”

Target applications for the versatile device include packaging and point-of-sale, synthetics, and kiss-cut sheet label production.

Cutting speed is up to 1,200mm/second and the FB9000PRO also features a nifty “blended” multi-speed cutting option whereby cut speed adjusts when the device reaches intricate or complex shapes within a job, and speeds up for simple cuts without slowing the entire process down – something that Intec believes is unique.

Maximum media cutting thickness is 1,000mic and it applies 1.2kg of cutting pressure and 1.5kg of creasing pressure “to achieve deep, clean creases”.

Maximum sheet size is 550x850mm and the device can feed sheets in portrait or landscape orientation.

Cut files are recognised using QR codes and the FB9000PRO features a dual tool head with separate cutting and creasing tools.

Intec design and marketing executive Shaun Forward said that a number of customers had already placed orders prior to the official release of the product. “It’s a completely new machine and is obviously very attractive to the market,” he said.

The FB9000PRO is available immediately and the RRP is £13,499.
