The new Jet Press 750S High Speed Model (HSM) has the fastest output speed of any B2 sheetfed inkjet device currently available, Fujifilm said. 

It prints at 5,400sph in high performance mode making it one-and-a-half times faster than the current 750S model.  

Users can switch jobs between high performance mode and quality mode (3,600sph) depending on the type of work being produced. 

Existing Jet Press 750S users can opt for an on-site upgrade of their machines to the higher spec. 

The Jet Press 750S HSM is slated to ship in the autumn. Pricing for the press and the upgrade is yet to be released.

Its zero makeready and recyclability credentials are maintained in line with the current model.

Taro Aoki, head of digital press solutions at Fujifilm EMEA, said the device would accelerate the movement of work from offset to digital.

“The whole digital press industry needs to take on more jobs and longer run lengths,” he said.

Aoki also emphasised the total cost of ownership, which Fujifilm said would be “improved” through the ability to be competitive across a wider range of work. 

“Uptime is the most important factor – we maintain our high level of uptime with the increased speed,” he added.

Fujifilm has around 230 Jet Press installations worldwide, with a backlog of installs to come that have been held up by pandemic restrictions. 

The press uses Fujifilm Dimatix Samba printheads and its water-based Vividia inks and prints at 1,200x1,200dpi for “ultra-high quality print equal to or even better than offset”. 

Fujifilm is also planning its own virtual exhibit for late June, to showcase the Jet Press and other products from its range including Superia ZX processless plates.
