Banbury eyes 15% turnover boost after Heidelberg Stahlfolder buy

Commercial printer Banbury Litho has invested in a Heidelberg Stahlfolder TH 66 to clear a bottleneck in its finishing department.

According to managing director Matthew Wise, the firm has seen a large increase in work over the past year, meaning its 20-year-old MBO B26 was unable to keep up.

The machine was installed this week and is expected to be up and running by early February. Wise said: "We are seeing an increase in work levels and we are growing rapidly with a number of new clients, both locally and regionally.

"We are updating; our 20-year-old machine needed replacing and now we have a faster machine with faster makereadies."

The 40-staff company currently has a turnover of £3.6m – however Wise said that he hoped the additional work would increase the company’s turnover by around 15% in 2011.

Banbury Litho’s pressroom equipment includes a B2 10-colour long perfector, a B2 five-colour and a B3 six-colour. The company also has a Xerox iGen3 digital press and digital wide-format equipment.
