Italian lay-flat photobook equipment manufacturer Marcello Strada is looking to expand the dealer network of its innovative bookbinding technology.

The family-owned business specialises in economical manual and semi-automatic air-powered systems that open up the production of high-end, premium photobooks to businesses of all sizes.

It’s four-strong photobook portfolio ranges from the entry-level Condor Mini, which includes an aligner and press and can handle photobooks up to 40pp in formats up to 320x320mm, up to the flagship Multi Condor Plus.

The Multi Condor Plus features an aligner, creaser, double press pneumatic and manual press block in a single 1.1x1m footprint unit that can produce books up to 65pp in a wide variety of formats up 520x520mm in under three minutes.

Other photo kit includes standalone pneumatic photobook presses, pneumatic aligners and pneumatic creasers.

As well as manufacturing the devices at its own Sicilian factory, it also supplies acid-free, self-adhesive cardboard inserts that can be used in either cold-or hot mount binding systems. Other consumables include gauzed paper self-adhesive for face offs and adhesive film for attaching photos to plexiglass.

The business, which was established in 2007, is looking to expand its “family” of distributors in around 40 countries where sea or air transport is required for delivery. Each new dealer is provided with a demo machine and a supply of inserts.
