Remous founder Graham Bunter started off writing and publishing a magazine about stock cars, which he printed in his garage. More and more people asked if he could supply print for them, and the business expanded accordingly, moving to its present factory in the mid-1980s. Today the firm is run by Graham’s son Alan (below).

Where are you based?
Milborne Port in Dorset. We also have four units off site for our warehousing and distribution service

How many staff do you have?
16, including an apprentice taken on this year

What does your firm do?
We print a huge range of things. We have a reputation of printing things other companies don’t want to try

What’s your typical customer?
Someone looking for great service first and price second

Which geographic markets do you serve?
Most of the UK, plus we do export some work on behalf of clients

What’s your USP?
Our complete service. It might sound like ‘that old chestnut’ but so many clients are relieved that we can design the jobs, print them (either digitally or litho), bind them in nearly every way, mail them, warehouse them, distribute them and even give the customer access to stock control and call-off online. They don’t have to deal with several different companies or ship the job around the country for each process

Where do you see your business in five years’ time?
Offering an even wider range of services, with improved margins as the industry overall contracts to a sustainable size

What’s your team’s favourite biscuit?
Alright, they’re not biscuits, but probably Belgian buns. Or a round of Magnum ice creams in the summer
