Webmart has found itself cited alongside global brands such as Nike, Starbucks and Zoom in a Forbes piece about companies “putting people above profits” during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Bicester-headquartered marketing and print procurement specialist repurposed 11 surplus laptops for low-income children in the Barnsley area, who were able to continue their schooling at home during lockdown.
The move was picked up by ‘customer experience futurist’ and author Blake Morgan, who highlighted Webmart’s efforts in her Forbe’s piece detailing companies that had shown “incredible compassion”.
“Being compassionate is a powerful way to not only do good in the world, but also build goodwill and loyalty,” Morgan stated.
Webmart founder Simon Biltcliffe was furloughed during lockdown, and used his time to write a book about how to run a business that benefits everybody. He is releasing it chapter by chapter on LinkedIn.
