Pureprint Group in another big name hire

Pureprint Group has recruited another technology-focused big-hitter following the appointment of Anthony Thirlby as chief operating officer earlier this year.

Former Sun Branding Solutions director of innovation Mark Eggleton joined the business over the summer as chief technology officer. Prior to his role at Sun, Eggleton was operations director for software development at Tag Worldwide.

Eggleton will report to the main Pureprint Group board.

“The role encompasses not just IT but the group’s whole structure around technology. Mark will take us to another level in terms of the opportunities he creates and the team he will build,” said Pureprint Group chief executive Mark Handford.

As well as growing Pureprint’s technical team in terms of skills and numbers, one of Eggleton’s focuses will be further building Pureprint’s web-to-print business.

“It was key to get Mark to join around the same time as Anthony as they’re two roles that go hand in hand. They will be part of the team that builds things for our future,” said Handford.

“When you look at web-to-print, for example, the orders going through every day are in their thousands – that’s a big change in the past few years and something that’s only going to grow and grow.”

Handford hinted that the £60m group would be unveiling a number of significant new technology-driven contract wins in the coming weeks.

Eggleton said he planned to “weave technology into the very fabric” of the group in the newly expanded CTO role.

“Pureprint Group is a service-based business with a unique customer engagement strategy fitting the ‘age of the customer’. This is no ordinary printer and is a business with wonderful credibility and exciting growth plans,” he added.

“I am looking forward to building a cutting-edge technology strategy that will help the business offer more innovative products and services.”
