Perfect Colours adds Epson SC-F printers to portfolio

Perfect Colours has extended its relationship with Epson by becoming a reseller of its SureColor F series textile printers.

The London-based firm will supply the Epson SC-F7100 and SC-F6000 to its UK customer base of wide-format professionals with immediate effect.

“We’ve been looking at the fabric decoration market for a while and obviously there’s quite a lot of choice out there. We didn’t want to go into it all guns blazing by taking on three-metre or five-metre machines. We just wanted to dip our toes in at entry point level to understand the market,” said managing director Jason Burroughs.

“Epson has got a proven track record with its machines in this area and we’ve got an existing relationship, so it made sense that we partnered up and started somewhere.”

The F series provides new and established sign and display companies with an accessible entry point into fabric decoration.

The SC-F6000 is an entry-level 44in (1.1m) high-speed version while the SC-F7100 is a productivity-geared 64in (1.6m) model.

Each model features single-operator media loading and an ink refill system, which uses one-litre pouches for low maintenance and long print runs.

“I think the fabric market is growing. It’s an interesting market and people are starting to invest in that sort of kit. But a lot of people haven’t got £100,000 to spend on it, they want to buy something sensible that gets them into the industry affordably,” said Burroughs.

The firm will use the appointment to grow the presence of dye-sublimation in the UK. It will offer customers a full introductory training course across the software, media and hardware needed to produce short and medium-length runs of soft signage, promotional goods, sportswear and object decoration.

Perfect Colours is currently showing the SureColor F series on tour in its country-wide roadshow, which Burroughs said has been “well received and well attended so far with some positive buying signs from people”.
