Overmatter: fooled again

With April Fool’s Day coinciding with Easter Sunday this year, the associated ‘is it, or isn’t’ fun and frolics was relatively constrained.

Notable mentions must go to a couple of decent efforts that have come to Overmatter’s attention. In a very on-trend spoof, James Freemantle of London private press St James Park Press received a fairly convincing- looking letter (dated 1 April) from Kensington Palace, commissioning him to print the invitations and order of service for the upcoming royal wedding, with a print run of – wait for it – 20,000.

om-inviteFreemantle concedes that might be a bit of a stretch on his Albion. He is yet to track down the culprit. “If I ever find out who it is, I’m giving them a bottle of Champagne for the effort,” he tells Overmatter, so it could be worth confessing.
