60 seconds with Apprintable

Apprintable was conceived in spring 2015 when co-founder and managing director Peter Haddad noticed a “huge gap in the print market” while at university.

He says: “I wasn’t able to get high-quality print at a wallet-friendly price and quick delivery service. Thus, Apprintable was built from the ground up by focusing on my hospitality network and outsourcing to trade suppliers. We then started manufacturing Tyvek wristbands to cater to the London events market – operating same-day deliveries as well as overnight nationwide.” The firm invested in digital printing kit, expanded its same-day offering and turned its attention towards sustainability and earth-friendly products. “We are immensely proud of our commitment to make the print industry a little greener,” Haddad says.

Where are you based?

Apprintable is a proud local of the west London community. We opened our very first shop in North Acton, then moved to Perivale, and settled in August 2020 into our current office in Greenford. The principal reason for moving was to increase our office space and continue to look at growth in our amazing team, and our print capabilities

How many staff do you have?

We have seven employees, most of whom work from home due to the pandemic. They have all done so well in their work-from-home situations, it’s not easy to not be together in an office as we were only a year ago

What does your firm do?

We print a wide range of products and are a leading specialist in printed wristbands and printed paper cups. We offer print procurement and are aggregators for our cherished clients, big and small. This year, we are looking to grow our eco-range and find ways to match prices to our standard products. We also donate 5% of eco-friendly product revenue to Trees for Cities; a pledge to lower our carbon footprint and set a green precedent for other firms in our industry is to follow

What’s your typical customer?

Micro home businesses right up to global brands

Which areas do you serve?

We operate nationally and serve a lot of the local community too

What equipment do you run?

In-house equipment includes OKI Pro 9431, Epson Surecolor F2100 DTG with Sefa auto-heat press and Schulze Pretreat Maker IV, Graphtec F-Mark Plus digital die-cutter, SRA3 laminator and guillotine

What’s been your proudest achievement in the past few years?

Being called last minute by NHS Nightingale the day before they opened last year and being able to donate the wristbands they needed that same day. We love being on the other end of the phone with a solution when someone really needs help

How is business at the moment?

Even with the pandemic casting a shadow over the beginning of this year, we are excited to move forward with our plans in 2021. We are looking at more production equipment investments, upgrading our office space (again) and growing our team

What’s your team’s favourite biscuit?

In our two-hour debate, we couldn’t all agree on this! Personally, it’s double chocolate stuffed Oreos – simply delicious!
