The highly rated commercial printer with a complete plant in Mahape (40 kms from Mumbai) and offers a full range of print and value added services, installed an HP Indigo 3550 to achieve its goals.
"We are excited to offer our customers true lithographic quality printing on virtually any substrate, and the lower environmental impact the press offers is just as important as the quality," said Saifee Makasarwala, COO, Silverpoint.
"We never make a business decision without putting a ton of consideration into its environmental impact. We like how the HP Indigo 3550 removes nearly all the makeready waste in production for more-efficient short-run printing."
Many of the artists and graphic design professionals working for Silverpoint's clients have high expectations in terms of colour quality and accuracy.
Makasarwala said: "We lay a lot of emphasis on managing the colour of the print jobs we do. It is a standardised process right from capturing images to pre-media and later, printing. Apart from this, choosing the correct paper accentuates the desired colour and sharpness."
More than 60% of printing at Silverpoint is done on speciality paper. The company’s art of printing is visible in the anomalous approach towards print technology which includes etching of paper, an array of fabrication and finishing techniques, innovative concepts and designs
among others. The company was the pioneer for printing on uncoated paper in India.
"We consider our customer base to be the most creative in the industry," added Makasarwala, "so the HP Indigo ability to run CMYK inks plus Pantone-licensed spot colors and white ink is exciting for us and it really unlocks the artistic potential of our customer base."
The HP Indigo 3550 is HP’s flagship sheetfed press designed to produce 8,000 images per hour of paper format 330x482mm with a wide colour gamut with up to five-colour printing. It is capable of an automatic duplex, in-line quality printing control that offers a resolution of 812 dpi, 812 x 1624 dpi H.
The press is suited to handle short- to medium-run length jobs as well as high-value applications such as variable-data-driven marketing collateral, photo books and personalised direct mail.
