RnB Direct Mail invest in Buhrs BB300 with camera system

RnB Direct Mail has invested 80,000 in a nine-station Buhrs BB300 envelope inserting system with camera matching.

The Leeds-based company, which purchased the machine from independent mailroom machinery supplier Promail, said it allowed it to match items on traditional mail packs.

The machine is fitted with three cameras, allowing up to three items to be matched into any size envelope from C6 to C4 – so an envelope, a letter and a form could be personalised and matched together with 100% accuracy.

The direct mail printer said this would allow its customers to be more flexible with their creative, tailoring mail pieces to each individual and pre-filling information across more than one personalised item.

Ryan Metcalf, director of RnB Direct Mail, which has a turnover of around £2.8m, said the camera system had been a great addition to the firm's equipment line up.

"As well as offering a matching facility, the cameras can be used simply as another check that no double or mismatched items have been enclosed, offering peace of mind to our customers," he said.

Metcalf added that the company had also taken on a new member of staff to run the machine, bringing the total number of employees to 35. He said the purchase was not part of a wider investment programme, but that the company was always "keeping an eye on what is next".
