ECRM to launch eco platesetter at Drupa

ECRM is set to unveil its environmentally friendly polyester platesetter, the DPX 4 Eco, at Drupa this week.

ECRM has fitted the DPX 4 Eco with a patented self-contained processing unit that it claims eliminates the need for multi-bath chemistry processing.

Instead of using a multi-bath processor, the platesetter, which is capable of outputting 27 processed, dried and cut-to-size plates per hour at 2,540 dpi, coats the chemistry directly on to the plate in a thin layer.

Torben Rysgaard, vice president of ECRM's polyester CTP division, said: "With the introduction of the DPX 4 Eco, printers benefit by maintaining a very stable plate development process that results in excellent print quality."
