Baring everything

UFabrik has announced its progressive engagement with CarbonQuota, to validate its product portfolio through a comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) programme.

Revealing the news at Fespa Global Print Expo this week, where its booth is 3.2-A40, the company said this collaboration would ensure that every scientific claim is backed by audited and certified data.

By implementing rigorous LCAs, UFabrik said it was seeking to remove ambiguity from the market, providing its customers and brands with clear independent environmental information for all textiles within its range.

Robin East, group chief commercial officer at UFabrik, told Printweek: “When you do an LCA you’re baring everything, but the major brands – particularly in retail – want honesty. And we want to be that manufacturer that demonstrates honesty so that we can become a trusted manufacturer.”

Dominic Harris, co-founder at CarbonQuota, commented: “UFabrik’s forward-thinking commitment to a full lifecycle strategy represents a major step forward. It is a serious, science-led approach that we are proud to support.”

Separately, UFabrik has built its Fespa stand in partnership with global modular exhibition frame specialist beMatrix.

All textile graphics for the double deck stand have been produced using UFabrik textiles across multiple manufacturers’ print technologies, which the company said demonstrated the versatility and quality of its portfolio.

Graphics were printed with Durst, EFI, SwissQprint, HP, and Agfa printers using UV-LED, neon UV, dye-sublimation (direct and paper transfer) ink technologies from print companies including 3 Sixty, Colour Graphics, FaberExposize UK, Hollywood Monster, Kamset, MediaCo, and Moss.

“We’re committed to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in textile-based display solutions,” said Robin East, group chief commercial officer at UFabrik.

“The collaboration with beMatrix brings together two powerful forces, allowing customers to see how our premium textiles and the beMatrix modular system work in perfect harmony to deliver breathtaking, practical and sustainable solutions for every kind of exhibition, event and retail environment.”

The stand features single piece backlit textiles (6x4m), and an applications gallery of UFabrik textiles, printed on a variety of major printer manufacturer brands and ink technologies.

Also; a UFabrik taster station, with a selection of samples that each has a QR code directly linked to full product details and data sheets, and a cinema zone that enables visitors to view the company’s collection of video case studies and its customer on-site consignment stock service animation.

UFabrik is the Premium Textile Partner to the Fespa Global Print Expo 2025, which runs at Messe Berlin until Friday (9 May).

UFabrik is distributed and sold through CMYUK in the UK and Ireland, while in North America it has a combination of direct sales and distribution through LexJet, but across the rest of Europe UFabrik sells direct.
