Updates across wide-format and textile applications

Sun Chemical unveils raft of new inks for Fespa 2025

Sun Chemical new aqueous and UV inks

Sun Chemical is displaying a wide range of new inks at Fespa this week.

The US manufacturer has brought inks suitable for wide-format, textile and industrial applications, with three brand-new inksets and several updated product lines shown at its booth (Hall 1.2, D40)

New to the wide-format graphics market will be Sun Chemical’s new Streamline Toccata water-based inks, designed for poster printing and corrugated display applications like POS print.

Suitable for a range of substrates, including clay-coated materials, the inkset is suitable for jobs that require high durability, the manufacturer said.

Also new for the graphics segment will be a new set of UV inks designed for low-viscosity printheads like Epson’s i3200 model, popular in direct-to-film (DTF) printers. The range will include CMYK, white and varnish, and will require no heating within the printer.

Textile printers will be able to see the launch of Sun Chemical’s Xennia Sapphire line, which follows 2024’s launch of Xennia Jade DTF inks.

Xennia Sapphire is a range of pigment inks for textile, suitable for cotton, polyester and blended fabrics. The range will span low, medium and high-viscosity digital printhead platforms, and will cover “the full range of wider format and industrial printers in the textile decoration space,” Sun Chemical said.

Designed for colour performance and wash fastness, the inks contain binders and are fixed with dry heat only – meaning no water is required in post-print processing.

“We are delighted to return to Fespa, the flagship event for the wide-format and industrial print industries,” said Peter Saunders, global director for digital, EM, and Screen businesses at Sun Chemical.

“Fespa 2025 provides us with the ideal opportunity to engage with both new and existing customers across multiple markets and applications. We’re very excited to showcase our latest technology developments that help customers remain at the forefront of digital print, enhance process efficiencies, and drive sustainable transformation in their businesses.”

The New Jersey-headquartered manufacturer will also showcase updates to its Streamline ESL 2 and Ultima inksets, which enable compatibility with Epson i3200 and Brother printheads, alongside a wide range of existing inks from across its portfolio.

SunJet, Sun Chemical’s inkjet brand, will also be displayed, alongside degassing technology from DIC Corporation under the firm’s Separel brand.
