Ricoh will show the Ricoh Pro VC70000e continuous feed inkjet press in public for the first time anywhere in the world at Hunkeler Innovationdays early next year.

An upgraded, automated version of its VC70000 high-speed inkjet press unveiled this summer, the press will be showcased at the specialist continuous feed event at Messe Lucerne from 27 February to 2 March.

The VC70000e’s software advances include production automation tools as well as business intelligence capabilities via the Ricoh Pro Scanner and Ricoh Supervisor.

The Automation Suite’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) options are said to “simplify operation and provide greater feedback for more effective decision-making”.

“Ricoh’s proprietary undercoating technology ensures high quality results and broadens the range of applications that are suitable for inkjet by further improving overall print quality with sharper detail and more vibrant colours,” the manufacturer stated.

“Also, at a time when global shortages are impacting substrate choice, the ability of undercoating to create a standardised print surface ensures outstanding results can be achieved on an even wider range of media.”

The Pro VC70000e is field upgradeable and interchangeable with existing Pro VC70000 models.

Also at Hunkeler Innovationdays, “flexible and responsive mono continuous feed inkjet production” will be demonstrated by the compact Ricoh Pro V20100 while a virtual showcase will highlight the possibilities of Ricoh’s forthcoming Pro Z75 B2 sheetfed inkjet press, with samples available to view.

Ricoh’s business development consultancy EDGE, which provides printers with essential tools and training to develop effective business and marketing plans, secure new business opportunities, and achieve a return on their investment with Ricoh, will also be discussed.

Eef de Ridder, vice president of Graphic Communications at Ricoh Europe, said: “Ricoh’s fast evolving portfolio of relevant and timely high speed inkjet and sheetfed production printing systems enable printers to transform their operational capabilities efficiently and confidently.

“They can explore fresh opportunities with continually enhanced software solutions and expert insight from EDGE. Ricoh’s complete solutions offering helps operations deliver high quality applications in a wide range of run lengths while overcoming today’s market challenges.”
