UV drying kit manufacturer IST (UK) has added air cleaning systems to its portfolio, to support print businesses looking to make their workplaces Covid safe.

The firm has added two systems from Virobuster in Germany, which manufactures Ultraviolet Pathogenic Elimination (UVPE) UV air cleaning systems predominantly for medical, quarantine and food environments.

The Steribase 300 Plus is a £5,020 freestanding mobile unit for small to large offices, small production units, meeting rooms, reception areas as well as dentist and doctor waiting rooms. A single unit can sterilise up to 300 cubic metres of air per hour.

“They’re also good for the more office style production environments, such as digital,” said IST (UK) managing director Simon Mitchell.

The second system on the firm’s books is a £3,575 wall-mounted unit, the Steribase Wall 150 Basic B114 which can also sterilise up to 300 cubic metres of air per hour per unit.

“You can also convert the wall systems to run through a ducting system, so it can be used on a larger industrial scale,” said Mitchell.

According to Mitchell, the Virobuster units are quick and easy to install and the firm is poised to deliver its first systems, including one multi-unit installation at a UK print manufacturer, and has received a high level of interest across a wide range of sectors.

“At the moment we’re gathering as much information as we can so that we can satisfy deliveries, because if everyone wants them tomorrow then we have a problem," he added.
