ID card specialist Digital ID, a Levata company, has partnered with Authentys for the combined launch of the new Authentys Pro RT1 retransfer card printer.

The Stockport-headquartered business, which has an additional supporting office in Oxford, said the device uses the latest retransfer technology to issue low cost, high quality, secure, and “super durable” identification cards in seconds.

Utilising 300dpi technology, the RT1 is said to leave no white borders visible, with each card displaying vibrant colours, sharp images, and full over the edge coverage.

It adapts to all card materials including PVC, composite PVC, PET, ABS, PC, and those with irregularities or raised surfaces, such as access control cards.

The device takes 30 seconds to print a single-sided card (using a YMCK ribbon), allowing the production of up to 120 cards per hour.

Stephen Dodd, VP and sales director at Digital ID, said: “Authentys has an excellent reputation in the industry, an impressive team of staff and are renowned for delivering high quality machines.

“Through our own market research and analysis, we delved into the intricacies of what organisations sought in an ideal card printer solution and the RT1 printer fits the bill perfectly. It’s a fantastic addition to our range, offering customers complete design flexibility, superior print quality and cards that last three times longer than other card printers commonly sold.”

Launched in 1990, Digital ID specialises in supplying printers and systems for the production of ID cards and access passes.

Most of its clients buy products and consumables for their on-site needs, with Digital ID providing customers with printers, blank cards, and card wear accessories like lanyards, to print and manage their own cards.

The firm does also offer printing services including custom printed cards, photo ID cards, and branded lanyards.

In 2018, Digital ID was acquired by US business Barcodes Inc, now a Levata company.
