Polestar Chantry in Wakefield will continue to print the 200,000-run title, while Graphic Facilities will do the pre-press at least for the next issue, September, which is due to hit the streets in the first week of August.
After that, Essex-based Essential, which has five other home decorating titles, will review print and pre-press suppliers.
It may decide to stay with the current suppliers for the following issue too in the interest of keeping continuity, according to managing director Luke Patten.
The firms other titles are printed by Wyndeham Heron and St Ives Andover. All repro for them is carried out in-house.
Weve been doing it in-house for three years, said Patten, ever since CTP eliminated film output. We did it to save costs, but it also saved time and improved quality.
