Wakefield-based bezier has installed the first commercially available Inca Columbia as part of a wider spend on digital print, while Bradford firm Media North has entered digital production for the first time with a Columbia.
It is bezier's second Inca and joins an Eagle, which was installed in 2002. Bezier has also installed an HP Indigo for small format work.
Production director Andy Harrison said: "Digital print is growing fast and is particularly useful in retail media where it allows short-run regionalised campaigns to be turned around quickly and cost effectively."
The firm has also shifted production on its screen printing lines to 24/6 resulting an additional 3,300 production hours per year.
Media North invested 350,000 in its Columbia in its first move to install digital production.
"In terms of large-format digital this is state-of-the-art and opens up new avenues for us," said managing director Scott Harrison.
