IBM has announced a new cut-sheet monochrome digital press and enhancements to its Docuprint range.
The 70ppm Docuprint 70 is an OEM from Hitachi Koki (HiKiS), and will sit at the bottom of the range below the Heidelberg Digimaster-engined 100ppm Docuprint 2000. It will be launched at the end of this month and is set to cost around 33,000 ($50,000).
IBM has also launched a new version of the Infoprint 4000, which it claimed added improved image quality, a more powerful RIP and enhanced job management and calibration.
The Infoprint 4000 ID5/ID6 has been introduced due to the increasing trend towards customer relationship management and the need to add more graphics, graphs and coupons to bills and statements.
All the new machines and the enhanced Infoprint Manager software will be shown at Xplor International in November.
