US-based Xitron, once a major competitor to High-Water and Compose in the UK, has re-branded to coincide with a new marketing drive on this side of the Atlantic.
Prior to the deal, Xitron used a third-party UK-based contractor to provide support to UK and European dealers.
It is the largest supplier of RIP and workflow software products in North America, but is hoping to increase sales in the UK via DCAPPS.
DCAPPS director Damon Easto (pictured) said Xitron specialised in RIP alone, giving it an edge over its competitors.
"It has always specialised in interfaces and has done a lot of work behind the scenes for major manufacturers, including Agfa and Fuji," said Easto.
Xitron supplies Harlequin and Adobe RIPs, which Easto said is both flexible and "industrial-strength".
Products include the RIP Manager, which turns any Harlequin RIP above version 6 into a flexible, drag-and-drop-based workflow tool.
Easto said the Xenith Extreme Workflow Server includes, as standard, features most major manufacturers list as additional.
Xitron increases UK support base on top of its US sales dominance
Pre-media software firm Xitron has increased its UK support base, securing Digital Colour and Pre-Press Solutions (DCAPPS) as the UK distributor for its RIP and workflow products.
