Xerox now has 70% of the US digital colour printer market, according to a new survey.
Independent market analyst IDC Corp said Xeroxs third quarter performance in the high end sector of the market was driven by the DocuColor 2000 Series of digital presses, which includes the DocuColor 2045 and 2060.
These offer colour printing at speeds up to 60 pages per minute.
IDC said the models serviced a sector that has grown 239% year-on-year, at a time when overall demand for printers has slackened as the US economy slowed down.

It is an impressive rise for Xerox, whose second quarter share of the market was just 56%.
Heidelberg's share, in contrast, was down 7% to 11%.
Hewlett-Packard leads in the colour page printers segment, which includes laser, LED and solid ink technology.
