Woodward was formerly group HR and operations director at print management group Astron, where she picked up a string of awards. She left the group at the end of February.
Despite receiving numerous offers from within the industry, Woodward opted to do her own thing. "Sometimes you have to live outside your comfort zone," she said.
Ahr was officially launched at the human resources forum last weekend, where Woodward was a speaker.
She said the firm would specialise in "providing practical support to companies to integrate their external brand image with their internal communication and operating practices".
"Basically, someone has a brand but they forget to market it internally in their own company so people can walk the talk," she said.
