William Reed to review 21 titles

William Reed has put out a tender document to consolidate its roster of web and sheetfed printers for its titles.

In addition to its incumbent suppliers, it has also sought out new suppliers, including Southernprint and Cooper Clegg for web-offset work, and Wace, Pims, Nuffield and Buxton Press for sheetfed work.

Tenders for web work have to be submitted by 1 March and sheetfed by 10 March. Production director Chris Reed said he hoped to make a final decision by mid-April.

Among the titles up for grabs is the firm's flagship business weekly The Grocer, which is currently produced by Wyndeham Heron. Reed added that the need to find a web operation with two perfect binders was a restriction in placing The Grocer.
