Walking tours map out prints past in London

Print enthusiasts will soon have a new way to enjoy a day out in the capital, with the launch of walking tours on the history of typography and printing in the City of London.

The tours, which will begin at the end of the summer, will take in many major sites from print and type-founding's past, including Fleet Street and Figgins type foundry in Fann Street.

They are the result of a link-up between a City of London guide and Typevents, which specialises in events for the printing and graphic arts communities.

A monthly walk will be open to the public, while bespoke tours for groups can also be arranged.

Former printer and qualified guide John Voller, a member of the City of London Lecturers Association, will lead the two-hour tours.
