Waddies has installed remote proofing in its London sales office in a bid to speed up the service it provides to London-based customers.
It has installed an Iris 4Print B2 digital contract proofer driven by an IQ Pro software RIP running on a G4 Mac.
UK sales manager Andrew Keighley said: "This represents a major investment and enables us to provide an even quicker and more efficient service to our customers in England."
To ensure an accurate colour match between proofs and printed jobs, Waddies has fingerprinted the presses at its Edinburgh site and is using ICC profiles to allow the proofer in London to match the individual characteristics of the presses. It is also using the same approach with the Iris in Scotland.
A Gretag Macbeth spectrophotometer is being used to measure the quality of the proofs and ensure they are within tolerance.
The installation of remote proofing comes hot on the heels of the firm investing 500,000 going CTP (PrintWeek, 19 May).
