Violet prompts double-digit results for Fujifilm

Fujifilm Graphic Systems recorded double-digit growth in its UK business last year.

The firm has just finished its year end, which coincides with the first anniversary of Keith Dalton's appointment as divisional director.

"Fuji was underrated in the market and we've worked hard to bring up awareness. It's worked a lot of people are calling us now," Dalton said.

He said Fuji's hardware sales had doubled, workflow products had been "quietly successful" and consumables had risen by more than 10%. "Thermal is still strong due to the installed base, but the change is towards violet our hardware activity doubled and it's all violet.

"Other suppliers are coming in with violet now, so I'm very pleased because it's endorsing what's happening," Dalton added.

Dalton added that the Litho Supplies distribution deal signed in November was "developing very nicely".

Dalton aims to push the value of Fuji's service and backup offering. "Clients like doing business with people who look after them, but there's a cost attached. We have to change the culture   this 'free' expectation isn't being paid for anywhere."
