Although M6 expects him to start in the very near future, MoDo Merchants, his current employer, wants Turnbull to work out his contract until early next year.
Turnbull has been at MoDo Merchants as regional sales director for the last three and a half years.
His career began at Quaife Paper immediately after finishing his A levels.
His longest-standing job was at Arjo UK Merchants (Antalis), where he worked for 17 years.
MoDo Merchants said it would make an announcement regarding Turnbulls replacement in due course.
