TG Print switches to Heidelberg's Suprasetter and Saphira plates

TG Print has installed a new Heidelberg Suprasetter S74 platesetter and switched to the German manufacturer's own-brand Saphira chemistry-free plates.

The company's new Suprasetter replaces an existing Topsetter, which the company said was "ready for an upgrade" after outputting 100,000 plates.

Woolwich-based TG Print, which is already equipped with a Speedmaster SM74 press and Prinect Prepress Interface, said it chose the Suprasetter because it was the "most compatible with its CIP4 workflow".

According to TG Print managing director Dave Duhig, it was the front end that had the biggest influence on the company's decision to invest.

"The Signastation imposition software is excellent and the Meta Dimension PDF workflow is so good that we even iron out any wrinkles on files to be run on the Indigo digital press," he said.

"It has eliminated any problems we have, everything is now very easy to run."

TG Print is a general commercial printer that produces flyers, posters and general commercial print.
